Diary of a little female track rider

About MotoMarta

Towards the end of 2006 I had made the decision that I will no longer just think about how much fun it would be to have a motorcycle, I’m going to make it a reality.  My life had undergone some major changes. I ended a significant relationship and for the first time in my adult life I was living on my own, making my own decisions with no one else’s feelings or opinions to consider.  With no one there to stop me I decided I will do something I have always wanted to do that has always been met by some level of the “it’s too dangerous” argument.

I have had prior track experience with cars and was very much hooked on lapping days.  With my sports car gone and no budget for a new one, I figured lapping the track on a bike would be a cheaper alternative and would likely prove to be more fun and quite challenging.  I had a hard time trying to imagine the new season approaching while having no way to ride the track.  From day one, I knew that a significant part of my motivation for getting a motorcycle was to ride that thing on the track.

My name is Marta and MotoMarta is all about my dive into the world of motorcycles.  My personal experiences are all here.  My discoveries about what gear to buy, only to realize just how hard it is to find good quality gear in small female sizes.  Getting my first bike, first rides, first track day, first of many crashes :P it’s all here!
